We are excited to be entering Stage 3 of the BC Re-Start Plan and would like to share with you the steps we continue to take to minimize the risk of spread of the corona virus which causes COVID-19.

Please respect that each individual has a different comfort level as we progress through the pandemic.

With direction from the BC Provincial Health Office and the College of Massage Therapists of BC  our protocols currently are:

New Consent form specific to addressing COVID19 will be discussed prior to treatment.  Please consider that in the current environment of COVID-19:

  1.     any massage therapy treatment involves risk of COVID-19 transmission

  2.     we are following a protocol to reduce or mitigate risk, but that risk cannot be reduced to zero

Screening for symptoms upon arrival for appointment.  If you have any symptoms of illness, Covid or otherwise, or have been in contact with someone who is ill, please cancel your appointment and re-schedule when you are symptom free. Your appointment will be cancelled if you exhibit signs and symptoms of illness.

Masks: Please bring one with you.  If you are not able to, we will provide one for you.  While masks are currently not mandatory, they are recommended when physical distancing is not possible for extended periods of time.  Clearly, giving and receiving massage therapy treatments does not allow for physical distancing.  Your appointment can be refused if you are not willing to wear a mask if your therapist requests it.

Physical distancing measures for outside the treatment room:

When arriving, please wait outside the clinic door until your therapist welcomes you in. The door will be locked. (Please be aware of this and plan ahead in case you might urgently need to use a washroom before we can let you in.)

Please wait in the designated area by the clinic door.

We ask that you do not bring family or friends with you and that you do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your treatment.   If the client is a minor or needs assistance, a parent/guardian or assistant is, of course, allowed.  If you are a new client: please arrive at least 10 minutes to fill out the health history form etc.

Appointments are being staggered to reduce the amount of people in the clinic and building hallway at one time.

Hand washing is required upon entering and exiting the clinic.  Hand washing appears to be the most effective way to limit the spread of the virus as well mask wearing and proper covering of coughs and sneezes and avoidance of touching your mouth, eyes and nose.

Hand sanitizer will also be available for use.

Cleaning and disinfecting of treatment tables and face rests, frequently touched surfaces will be extensive and done in between client appointments.
